The information on this page will give you the TRUTH about what it takes to have personal relationship with God and become a "Christ Follower" or "Christian." I’m not talking about religion or simply going to church because you feel you “have to.” I'm talking about having a real personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus the Christ. Those individuals who reject this personal relationship will spend eternity separated from God. (Spiritual "death".)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There are four simple truths you must understand and act upon to have a personal relationship with God, through Jesus the Christ.

1) First, you must understand that you are a sinner. I know that's hard to admit for some people. But the Bible says we've all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. You might protest. "But I live a good life. I'm a moral person," you might say. But the Bible says if you offend in one point of the law, you're guilty of all. Have you ever sinned? Have you ever broken a commandment? Then you're guilty. One sin is enough to keep you out of heaven. You have to admit you're a sinner.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

2) Second, understand and believe that Christ died on the cross for you. He died for your sin. He paid the price for your sins when he shed his blood.

But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!

God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we
might live through Him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent
His Son to be the propitiation* for our sins.

* The word propitiation has to do with the removal of divine wrath. Jesus’ death is the means that turns God’s wrath from the sinner

3) Third, understand that you must repent of your sin. The word 'repent' means you have a change of heart and mind. You have a desire to do things God’s way and not your own way or in a sinful way. Once you repent and have a change of heart… your actions will follow. This doesn’t mean you will be perfect… but it does mean your desire will be to turn from your sinful actions and turn to God.

Therefore repent and turn back, that your sins may be wiped out so that seasons of refreshing may
come from the presence of the Lord

4) Fourth, you must respond. You must receive Christ into your life. Becoming a Christian is not just believing a creed. It's receiving Christ into your life, into your heart.

But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God

if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one
confesses, resulting in salvation.

You can receive Christ into your life by saying a simple prayer similar to this…

Dear Jesus, I know that I’m sinner. And I’m sorry for the things I’ve done wrong and for my sinful attitudes. Please forgive me. I know that you died on the cross for me and rose from the dead for me. And right now, to the best of my ability, I submit my life to you. I invite you into my life, to be the leader of my life. Please save me. Amen.
